Welcome ! To enhance your experience during your stay, we’ve highlighted some of the unique features and subtle details of PH3. These details will help you navigate the space more effectively.


Privacy/Service Indicator

The PH3 sign, out front, is equipped with a doorbell and on the inside has a PRIVACY button that shows red when privacy is desired and a SERVICE button that shows green when the room is available for cleaning.


Blinds

The powered blinds control is black, round, and located on the wall beside the bed. Pressing the ALL button OPEN or CLOSE activates all blinds simultaneously. Pressing 1, 2, 3 or 4 activates that specific blind one at a time.

Dedicated Room Wi-Fi.

The room has a dedicated WIFI network under “PH3”. The password is: “Room318#$”

Smart Tv

Press the home button to use streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video

Bedside Tv Wall-Mount

Your bedside TV is installed on a mobile wall mount, allowing you to position it as you like for comfortable viewing from your bed

Dedicated Music System.

To access the music system on your device please follow the steps below:  

IOS Devices (iPhone/iPad):

  • Within the media player you are using (Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, etc.) select:

  • Go back into phone settings and under location find “App Permission”
  • Find “Google Home” app and click in. Ensure “Allow all the time” is clicked off
  • Play music from your preferred music app
  • Click on the “Google Home” app
  • Choose “PH3”
  • Select “Cast my audio” then select “Start now”

Check-In & Check-Out.

Resort check-in is 4:00 pm and check-out is 11:00 am. Express check out is available at the Front Desk the evening prior to your departure, or by calling the front desk on your day of departure.

Housekeeping.

We are happy to assist you through the Front Desk for any housekeeping needs. Please call extension ‘0’. Full housekeeping services are available until 4:00 pm daily. If you do not want to be disturbed, please leave the “Shhhh…” sign visible on your door. In our Ocean Courtyard Rooms, as well as the Penthouse Suites, please ensure your privacy light is activated from your internal panel. Our friendly housekeeping staff will do a final check of the Resort at approximately 3:00 pm daily. Guest rooms that are not displaying a “Shhhh…” sign or privacy light will be offered housekeeping services.

In-room Safe.

All resort guest rooms have in-room safes. We encourage our guests to keep valuables in the safes rather than taking them to the Spa. Please contact the Hotel Front Desk if you have any issues with the operation of your in-room safe. 

Lost & Found.

Our Resort Lobby / Front Desk records and stores all items that have been found on the property for one month. Please visit the Front Desk or dial extension ‘0’ for assistance.

Luggage Storage.

The Front Desk has secure storage space available for guests. 

Spa and Restaurant Bookings.

We encourage you to book your Pacific Mist Spa services and Hydropath early to ensure your best selection of services and times. Ocean7 Restaurant also recommends reservations especially during peak dining times and for special occasions. AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar is walk-in only and operates on a first come, first served basis.

Quiet Time.

To ensure a restful and rejuvenating stay, we ask all our guests to respect and adhere to the Resort’s quiet time from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Should you have any concerns, please do bring it to our attention. Dial ‘0’ to reach the Resort Lobby / Front Desk.  

Dial “0” after 11:00 pm to reach our nighttime staff on duty.

Fire Bowls.

The Serenity Gardens Fire Bowls are lit every evening from dusk until 10pm. Please note Fire Bowls cannot be reserved.

Voice Messages.

A red light flashing on your room phone indicates a voicemail message.

To retrieve, dial 999 and follow the prompts.

Wake-up Call.

Please dial 840 on your phone and follow the prompts to set up a wakeup call. You can also dial 0 for Front Desk assistance.

Smoking Policy.

All resort guest rooms, patios and balconies are 100% smoke free. This includes tobacco and cannabis and use of any vaping products. A minimum $250.00 fee will be charged for violating the no-smoking policy. Please contact the Front Desk to inquire about smoking areas available to guests of the resort.

Laundry service.

We are able to launder clothing for our guests, and can do same day service if the items are received at the Front Desk by 8:00am. Unfortunately, we do not have dry cleaning capabilities here at the resort. Please visit the Hotel Front Desk for further information on guest laundry opportunities.

In case of power outage.

Power outages tend to occur more frequently in the winter months due to severe storms and falling trees, but can happen at any time of the year. You will find a battery-operated lantern on the top shelf of your hall closet for use during a power outage. If there is an emergency during a power outage, please contact the Front Desk by dialing ‘0’ from your room or visit the Front Desk to get assistance from an agent on duty.

Pet Station.

We have several select pet friendly rooms located on the lower level in the wing of the Ocean View Standard Rooms. Please ask at the Front Desk for details on our pet policy, the location of our “Pet Station” or for more biscuits and bags. A daily cleaning fee will be charged.

Mail Service.

Please drop off your mail to be posted at the Front Desk. You can also purchase postage from us for letters.

Convenience Store.

There is a small convenience and liquor store located 2 kms north along the highway (Royston Mini Mart). Turn right at the end of our driveway to head north towards Courtenay. It is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily. You will also find a vending machine off the hotel lobby for snacks and drinks. An additional vending machine is located on level 3 of our Beachfront Suites building.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.

At this time we do not have an EV charging station on site. There are multiple charging stations located less than 10 kilometres from the resort. A list of stations is available at the front desk.

Ice & Vending Machines.

An ice machine is located on level 3 of our Beachfront Suites building. It is accessible from both stairs and elevator. Alternatively, you can receive ice from the bar at AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar.

A vending machine is available at the side entrance of our Front Desk lobby.

Pacific Mist Spa.

Hydropath.

At the Pacific Mist Spa, you will find proven spa therapies focusing on the rich ingredients of the sea and interpreted to reflect our unique West Coast environment.

A swimming suit is required. 60min. Up to 4 guests.

Appointments are required for all spa services, including the Pacific Mist Hydropath.

Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Hot Tub.

Open to resort and day spa guests, our heated pool, hot tub, steam cave, sauna and state-of-the-art change rooms are accessible by entering the Pacific Mist Spa. No outside food or beverages of any kind are permitted in the spa or on the pool deck area.

We ask that you change into your hotel room robe and slippers when you are visiting the spa for services or enjoying the pool facilities.

Towels are available at the Spa.

Fitness Room.

Our Fitness room is located behind the spa building. and is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Access to the Fitness Room is separate from the spa entrance. Please refer to the resort map on your Room Key holder provided at Check-in for directions.

Bring your room key card to access the Fitness Room.

Children’s Pool Hours.

Children under the age of 13 years are welcome to enjoy our pool facilities during the hours of 9:00 am to 10:00 am and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm only. Any guest 14 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Pacific Mist Spa’s Boutique Shop at the Kingfisher Resort is home to luxurious top brands for your vacation shopping and every day self-care.  Specializing in travel clothing by Tommy Bahamas, work out gear by Lululemon, sunglasses by Maui Jim, swimwear by Anne Cole & Sea Level, and footwear by Havaianas and Olukai. Take care of your skin with Phytomer products, La Spa, Vie Collection, Gehwol and Jane Iredale makeup and so much more.  

Dining.

Drawing guests from far beyond the Kingfisher, Ocean7 Restaurant and AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar are known for their exquisite and ever-inventive fare. Celebrate special occasions and enhance the everyday alike with creative and thoughtfully prepared gourmet plates. As you dine, enjoy panoramic views of sea and sky, with eagles flying overhead and sailboats floating by.

Dress Code.

While there’s no dress code for Ocean7 Restaurant, our guests usually dress elegantly for dinner. At AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar, guests are welcome to dine in their robes for breakfast and lunch. Come as you are and make yourself at home. 

Safety.


IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE

  • 1. Immediately leave the fire area.
  • 2. Sound the alarm by activating the nearest pull station.
  • 3. Call 911 from a phone safely away from the fire area (From a resort phone dial 911).
  • 4. State you are calling from the Kingfisher Resort.
  • 5. Give address as 4330 Island Highway South, Courtenay.
  • 6. Proceed to the designated assembly area – this is located in the parking lot beside the main driveway entrance to the Resort.


IF YOU HEAR AN ALARM

  • 1. Immediately leave the building and close the doors behind you.
  • 2. Remain calm, do not run.
  • 3. Do not use the elevator.
  • 4. Do not re-enter the building for any reason until instructed by a Kingfisher Resort representative.
  • 5. Proceed to the designated assembly area, located in the parking lot beside the main driveway entrance to the Resort.

No Candles Policy.

Due to the extreme fire hazard associated with burning candles, we ask that no candles be used at any time in your hotel room. 

Power Outage.

Each room is equipped with a battery-operated lantern located in the entryway closet, for use during any power outage.

Fire Extinguisher.

There is a fire extinguisher in each room located beside or near the front entrance to your room. This extinguisher may be used on all types of fires. Call 911 for emergencies from the phone in your room. Or, dial extension ‘0’ for the hotel operator. 

Gas Fireplace.

There is a thermostat on the wall of your room that controls the gas fireplace. Turn the thermostat onto ‘high’ to ignite and then use the indicator to adjust the temperature. It is extremely important that furniture or other items not be placed within 1 meter (3 feet) of the gas fireplace. Combustion may result. During the summer months the pilot light is turned off. Please call extension ‘0’ for assistance in lighting. 


Please note no propane BBQs, Cookers or Fire Pits are allowed on resort property.

Additional Safety & Security Considerations

  • Safeguard your key card at all times. 
  • If you lose your key, immediately call the Front Desk at extension “0”.
  • Lock your door from the inside while occupying the room. 
  • All Kingfisher Resort employees are required to wear their name badge visibly. 
  • Valuables may be placed in your in-room safe. 
  • Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. 
  • If you observe any suspicious behavior or activity, please contact any Resort staff member. To contact a Kingfisher Resort agent dial “0” from your room.
